A buddy and I are heading to Austin in early March and will have time to get in a round or two. He’s mentioned WolfDancer but are there others we should look in too?

Wolfdancer is a nice track, but in Bastrop (30-40 minutes away).

Barton Creek if you can get on.

Nice public courses to the north (Falconhead, Avery Ranch, Teravista).

All the muni’s are in shite shape right now. Not sure what they’ll look like in March.

If you have the time, it’s worth the 1-1:30 drive to San Antonio. They have much nicer public courses. Check out LaCantera (two courses) or the TPC ones.

Where you end up? Just discovered this board yesterday and searched for my home course I'm a member at and it came up.

I've heard good reviews about the SATX courses as well. The gf is from west of there and drive through frequently Playing one of them has been on wish list for a while.

I played Plum Creek in Kyle the weekend of the UT game. It was an interesting course in great shape. I really cant wait to go back. It is very reasonable, easy access from Austin or SA, restaurants all around the area and a layout you can play fast. My daughter shot a 79 with me and is still talking about how much she liked it.

Even though we flew in to Austin we ended up driving in to San Antonio the first day and playing The Quarry. Hit the Palmer Course at LaCantera the next morning and then drove back to Austin. Played Wolfdancer the next day then flew back. Great trip.

Somewhat related, but Austin just opened municipal course (walking only).
