LGA should be embarrassed for allowing guys like that to play in the championship

If it wasn’t at this course, the qualifiers wouldn’t fill up. The guys who played this badly will get a nice letter saying they won’t be allowed back…

Well it WAS at this course and they should have had qualifiers. They have had them scheduled before and cancelled when not enough have signed up. The LGA is too worried about making money and not worried enough about running quality events for the membership. Pretty sad

played today. The greens were rolling as a 13 and were extremely firm. there was probably only one short par four on each side. if you didn't have the length off the tee to hit a short iron into the other par fours, you were fricked.
I wonder if +14 is the highest cut line ever for an LGA mid am.

Plus 18 was the cut line there in 2014. It was par 71…..160 made it in.
155 made it in there in 2019. Par 72 that time.

Heading up tomorrow. Just gonna enjoy 3-4 rounds at the best course in the state and not worry about much else.
How'd you play baw? You make the cut?
Looking at the scoring, I don't think it's as egregious as some might. I could easily see a 7.5 index (especially a fake 7.5 that's generous with gimmees, only plays his home course, plays ob as penalty area, and bumps his ball all year) shooting 90+ from the tips at squire in tournament conditions. Maybe 10 guys at most reverse sandbagged the handicap to get it under 8 and in the tournament.

Course was great as always. Made the cut so $250 for 4 rounds and a $100 golf shirt is the best golf deal in Louisiana all year.
Course was very playable, but you had to hit fairways (I'd say hitting the rough off the tee was about a .75 shot penalty). Very tough to control the ball from rough, lot of knuckle balls.
Playing the native areas as lateral was a good call. Guy with me first 2 days hit it in there 5-6 times.
Greens are perfect but so difficult to get a putt you can be aggressive with. Lot of nerve wracking 3-5 footers for par.
Guessing the course played around 6700-6800 yards. No 16 was no more than a wedge any day and still played tough.
As for some of the high scores there were certainly some people who shouldn't have been there, but if you are a 5-8 hdcp and not playing your best you could easily shoot 85-90. And a lot of guys never play on greens like these
