John was great for my iron fitting and I still use the same setup that he suggested 3 years ago. The driver fitting didn't go as well for me but others have loved it. He tried changing my swing throughout the fitting and at the end I was swinging it worse than when I arrived and he never really suggested anything. I went to Bebu this week for the driver and although he only made tweaks to my current setup as opposed to a new shaft/head combo the whole process was awesome.
Popp is a good instructor but his rate is pretty high. I haven't been to him in a few years but his rate at that time was $165/hour I believe. Check out Cliff Wagner out at Oakbourne or Ted Scott (Bubba Watson's caddie).

John fitted me a couple years ago. Very happy with how he set them up for me.
Saw Popp for a couple of years and my game improved dramatically. as others stated, he's pricey, and even more so when you do a 2hr on-course lesson but thats when i really began to see an improvement because he helps you take the studio work to the course.

I had a lesson from him, he did take measurements of myself and irons before to make sure they weren’t too mismatched or out wack. He also cut down my driver on the spot to get a better/more consistent strike.
Ever since my teens, I’ve tried to manipulate the club head through the impact zone. Always wanted to swing through the ball effortlessly and let the club do the work. He changed several things around, by the time it was over it was starting to come together. I’d recommend him.
