After 2 months of testing, a lot of fun and several thousand dollars

I have gone back to mostly Ping clubs. ( new G425 irons with SteelFiber I95 shafts)
My rationale is the fact that I am just comfortable with the way that Pings feel and the distances that I get with them.
In the past few months I have owned Cally Apex 21, TM 790 and Srixon X5 irons and they are very nice clubs and out of the 3, I like the Srixon's best, but I will have to relinquish the membership card.
I also tested Cally Epic and Sim2 Max fairway woods, nice clubs, but the G425 fairway woods with the Tensi Orange shaft is point and shoot for me. And the Ping 425 3 wood is a rocket.
One club that did stick is the Cally Epic LS driver with the MMT shaft. So far it has been a beast and it is more forgiving that I expected.
One surprise, is that for me the TaylorMade Spider SR Flow Neck putter fit me far better than the Odyssey OG 7 and the Ping Tyne.
So for now, I have no 2nd bag, but I really look forward to testing the new Ping I59's when they arrive in September.
It was fun trying new stuff for sure, but in the end you have to play with what you are comfortable with to hit the shot.

Yes, I have a G425 driver with a Tensi Blue shaft.

You always go back to Ping old man!

Yep, I love the Ping story and how the Company has evolved while still being a family owned business.

I'll just take your cult card since I'm joining for the first time.

Those G425 irons are sweet.
What did you do with the X5’s?

I just became part of the Ping cult. At least with the driver. I just can’t stand the sound of the thing.

The sound they make when you blister one lets everyone you’re playing with know you just blistered one.

IMO, the Cally LS is way louder than my Ping G425, but I never pay attention to the sound anyway.

Turned them back in, nice to have a buddy in the business.

Hated the way my 410+ sounded so I sold it amd went back to my old Callaway.
Stroked some drives with it on Sunday. I’ll just have to remember the one swing thought every time I’m on the tee box or it’ll go to shite!

G425’s are shovels compared to Srixon baw, make a hard pass

My first set of clubs were Pings, it's what I am use to.

Just got my G425 LST Driver in Monday and used it yesterday for the first time. Very easy to hit straight and gave me a much needed yardage boost. M1 relegated to the closet!

If you ever went through their factory you wouldn't think of playing another club. The attention to detail is incredible (every grip in a set weighs exactly the same). 2 things I like most about Ping are that the irons are heat treated so that the grain of the metal is uniform , which means no hot spots or dead spots, and, because there are no shareholders to satisfy, no product is brought to market without being engineered to perform better.
This means nothing to the golfer but their business model is a model - no debt and no dead inventory ( no club is made til they have an order).
