When can we expect ps4 price drops?

I haven't had a playstation since the PS2. I've had the Xbox systems and enjoyed them but there are some games I've obviously missed. Instead of dropping $500 on the Xbox series x I was thinking about getting a ps4 and playing the God of Wars and TLOU and so on to hold me over. But it is still in the $300 range anyone have a guess on when that might drop?

When demand and volume for the PS5 evens out.

GameStop should have a glut of PS4s soon after their previous owners are able to trade them in towards the PS5. After the surge of holiday demand for the PS5 subsides and the manufacturing output is able to meet demand you should be able to snatch one up used for under $200, I am thinking February or March.

PS4 is still selling out so probably not soon, consoles have been selling like hot cakes during the pandemic and none can literally stay in stock right now.
