well for one when someone is on top of you it is easy to put on a guillotine choke..plus arm bars are easier..just depends on your style of fighting..I use kickboxing and wrestling and have gotten up to level 3 and there are at lot of new moves that open up transitions and striking..complete the tasks lists and they show you all the new stuff..

Can't get sub of the night
Got sub wins in my last 7 career fights, and couldn't get the sub of the night.
Got HOF though... no need for all the trophies. Forced to retire at 33-0, not a single fight went to the judges.
time to crank up the difficulty.

Having trouble when someone gets me in the single colar...do you just hold back on the left stick or do keep pressing it back and forth. Also how do you reverse it. I know how to do the takedown by grabbing leg. It's when I'm getting drilled in the head I have problems

Try punching your way out, and mix up striking and moving away to get out.

catch (counter grapple) a strike

It is beyond gay that it makes you retire

Yea, I agree. I wouldn't mind it if it was like 10yrs or something.
What really pissed me off was doing the training things. I got to a full level 3 in boxing and i needed like 30points in the final BJJ, but I wasn't invited back

they give you a percentage boost after each level.
That's how people on live get over a 100 on certain stats

I can get 7/7 tasks on all of the kickboxing, but the grappling training is ridiculously hard.

just constantly look at all of you move options by pausing and looking at the actions list. Then practice doing all that stuff.

They should make you age, and retirement should be voluntary with skills diminishing after a certain point.
That way you can retire a good fighter for online, or see how long you can go with a fighter for fun/single player.

Some of those 3 and 4 strike combos are a pain.
Grappling is easy, as long as the sparring partner helps you out. I seem to run out of time more than anything else.

This is the problem, my grappling partner usually takes the full mount, and then we do this little dance where we go from full mount to back control to full mount for the rest of the 5 minutes. I usually let the guy knock me out so I can restart, but sometimes the bastard won't even throw a punch from the mount position.

For some reason I seem to never get credit for combos. I agree that the stand up training tasks are a hell of a lot easier than the BJJ ones though.

I notice that for a few of the combos. Especially the head-kick/body-kick combos.

You really have to do combos, not just strike a followed by strike b.
You have to hit the button for the next one before the first one lands. Pain.
The wrestling task we slightly better than the BJJ, but I was slightly better at the game the 2nd time through.
