Gameinformer called the NPC's "quest dispensers". They just have a bunch of quests, and you go and do them. I've played through it twice so I've got the basic story down.
The main story line is finding this vault. A lot of other stuff is the NPC's asking you to do favors for them.

I've played Beserker one playthrough and now I'm on Siren. Soldier is really good at healing, but it's frustrating for them because there is no one to heal them........unless you play with another soldier. Eventually, when you level up, you can make it to where you can shoot your party members and it will actually heal them up. Alien found a Soldier mod that constantly replenished our ammo, minus grenades.
Sniping is tricky, but Hunter is the best at it.

Ask Vari. Alien and I kept warning him that the ending was a let down, and I'm not sure what he thought of it, but we still enjoyed the game a lot. DLC does a better job of it.

I'm not watching that. I want to enjoy the game until the end. Then, I'll be let down.

it's just a HAWP vid. pretty funny stuff.

It doesn't give anything away. Just states that the ending was weak.
I feel it's my duty to warn everyone about this who plays it. It helps you enjoy the game as a whole a lot more.

Gun variation is insane, and I really like the strafing. Movement is very fluid.

Tons of guns. Big thing for you is to get a shield that regens health. If you don't have another healer, that will be key.
If there was another gripe I had about this game, it's that with both playthroughs, I got to a point where I couldn't find a decent shield or mod upgrade that was worth it. Every one I found, the one I had was still better. I guess that's a good thing, but it would have been nice to be upgrading all the way through.
I found an SMG with an insane clip size, fire rate, reload speed, with fire elemental, and I pretty much just used that for the last quarter of the game. It's so beast.

Yeah, I've tried to keep enough cash to upgrade my shield whenever I find a better one.
Haven't found one that regens health yet, but we just knocked off Nine-Toes.
For an hour or so in, it's pretty damn fun. If the pace stays close to the same, it should be a fun game.

ain't gonna lie, it felt awkward playing a game with dev after our recent past with each other.

Actually, I think you don't start finding shields that regen health for a bit. Don't know what level you have to be at, but you have to wait.
And for your skill points after leveling, don't worry about picking something you might not be happy with later. It costs money, but at the DNA stations, where you can change your appearance and whatnot, you can remap all those points at any time. You just get all of them back and you can plug them in other places. Comes in handy.

You can purchase them whenever. You can put 5 points on to any ability. You have to put so many points on some of them in order to unlock the ones below them. You can see that little bar drop a little lower whenever you assign a skill point. Once it drops below the ability, you can start assigning to those.

Gotcha. I saw the 0/5 on the abilities and thought it took 5 skill points to get it. So I can put 1 skill point on it and still get a slight benefit?
Posted on 9/14/11 at 9:59 am to Devious
Yeah. I have a few that I would only put 1 or 2 points on. So every point you apply just increases that ability. You can max out 1 ability tree, or you can put points everywhere.
Soldier Skill Tree
You have 3 different routes you can go with your points, depending on what kind of character you want.
