Yeh, naked dead bodies

Im about to finish disc 2 and its starting to become a little monotonous. I really like this game and appreciate the length, but i guess im just too addicted to running around and shooting shite. I'm starting to think Red Dead is the more enjoyable game of these 2.

That's where this game falls a little short. You can't get drunk, take a streetcar, catch a jazz show, etc...it's an open world that's a little linear. It's still worth the buy. I wish the murder investigations were separate from each other.

It's the first time ever trying a game like this so I think they did an excellent job.
SPOILER:
I wonder if the scene after the credits is leaving it open for a new story where you play as Kelso rising through the ranks, just as you did with Phelps.

Can you keep playing after the last mission or do you need to get everything done you want done beforehand?
Posted on 5/22/11 at 3:15 pm to GeauxAggie972
You can go back and play every mission when you finish and you can also do a free roam mode where you can complete certain side missions and find collectibles.

I haven't found any of the films but are they like the newspapers where you can watch it, or is it just like the cars where you get in them to get the credit and that's it?

Not sure, I haven't found any either.

Cole Phelps kills more people in a day than the U.S. Marine Corps, yet nobody seems concerned.

True. i justify it as "once they open fire on police officers, they're fair game" . but yeah, cole phelps is a mass murderer on these streets

Noire too much thinking for you?
While I appreciate GTA for all it's worth, I love Noire for the simple fact that it actually makes you think. It's more about intelligence than brute for once.
Edit: And the cases aren't really that repetitive overall. In the Dahlia case they are a little because it's the same killer throughout all of them. But Traffic and Vice seem to have very different cases.

I hope they make a sequel to this game and then maybe in the future make an all new game in a different city and different time. I was thinking maybe NYC in the 70s.

The vice and arson cases are a lot of fun. The thrill of the homicides was not the actual detective work, but rather the intrigue of the serial killer's MO and possible identity. I wish he offered more information about his motives and meticulous framing.
ETA: and since I don't want to type a full review, I'll just say that I think 8.5-9 is an appropriate rating. The presentation is the best I've seen on a console, but many of the gameplay elements are oversimplified and sometimes tedious.

Would be fuggin sweet!
I actually kind of wish they had some kind of sub storyline where you could be a corrupt cop and take part in the drug stuff. I know, I know, just play GTA if you want that. But I think it'd be very cool with this kind of presentation. You'd have to be extra careful so others don't notice clues you may leave behind. Just an idea.

I think the game is ambitious enough... anything more would have been testing what developers are capable of doing on a single project.

Yeah, I don't think it would have worked well on this run through.
