Started this yesterday. Free roam fishing game. Anyone playing this?

Is it any good?
Haven't found a decent fishing game since Sega Bass Fishing on the Dreamcast.

I loved Sega Bass fishing. The Angler is really good. Its pretty much free roam. It's in depth too, you have to utilize drag with bigger fish. Lots 9f gear to choose from. You build your own setup for float fishing with live bait or artificial lures. It's a lot of fun. You just don't get the underwater action like in Sega Bass fishing.

I've been enjoying the hell out of this game the last few weeks.

Playing it on PS5 but single player offline. Unlike so many, I'm just not into community play.
I'm on about week 3 now and it's quite fun. I haven't done any challenges or anything, just roaming around unlocking fast travel points and fishing every body of water I come across. It still needs work but I know it's an indie dev and for what it is the mechanics are nice and the visuals are stunning. Also not looking up any hints or tricks, just completely winging it. Already managed to catch two "diamond" fish so that's fun. Real life fishing knowledge actually translates somewhat well into the game on many things, though I've never caught a walleye on a piece of bread IRL.
I fish a ton IRL and this is the next best thing when I can't physically be next to the river or pond.

This game is just fun. I'm working on maxing out the 3rd reserve now. I've caught all 6 of the current legendary fish, until they release the next 3 from Spain.
