Steam is censoring user reviews that the algorithm believes to be “review bombing”

Sigh. What’s the point of having a review system if you’re just going to censor what you don’t like?
If a developer and/or publisher is being shady af, even after the games launch by banning people from forums for unjust reasons, implementation of crappy policies like DRM switches, bugs that go unfixed, predatory micro transactions, etc. then users should be able to leave negative reviews in droves to warn other consumers and to express their opinion as it was the only way to get attention to the issues.
If a game is getting review bombed, there’s obviously something wrong. It’s anti consumer to prevent that messaging from users. And mind you, these are reviews from people who actually own the game, it’s not like they’re being flooded with bot accounts.
Valve has now eroded that. They have taken a page from Rotten Tomato’s playbook.

also, don't you have to own a game to review on steam? i could understand censoring reviews if people didn't have the game but if they paid for it that shite should stay up

No, from Epic playbook
they promised to shield game developers from criticism and a larger piece of the pie. that's the ONLY reason game developers are using their shite service and launcher.

Not liking things you are "supposed" to like is now off limits.
All major media websites are doing this crap now, movies, tv shows, video games.
Corporations do not want people talking shite about their multi million dollar projects.
These platforms once for communities are now just shills.

Yes, the game must be in your library.

Lol. The Epic playbook is to let publishers "opt in" to having game reviews on their games. At least with Steam, all games have to have them.
