I recently bought a wireless receiver for my xbox 360 controller to revisit Skyrim on PC (GOAT). If I want to use my controller for newer games (Fallout 4, etc), do I need to get an Xbone controller? Or does "Full controller support" = can use Xbox 360 controller on everything?

You can use the 360 controller. In fact, the xbone controller only recently gained native support.

Wait. How can you use a 360 controller?

Simply plug it into a USB port. Windows instantly recognizes it. Controller support is pretty seamless. I can plug in my controller in the middle of a game if I want. I sometimes use a controller for certain functions that are best suited to analog input, like driving (racing games, GTA, etc.) and pretty much all fighting games. Then I can just set the controller down and go right back to mouse and keyboard.
