So I beat Cities Skylines...

Thanks to the Gaming Board for this recommendation when I asked about strategy games a couple months ago.
Took about 10 iterations of trying out different city layouts, but once I got the traffic/street workingjust right, beating the game was a piece of cake.
Got up to about 150k population and was able to build all the monuments. Seemed like once the first monument was built, the others fell right in line because the game got exponentially easier.
Is there anything worthwhile to do after building all the monuments? I don't care about buying the expansions and adding a tiny bit to the game.

As a 30+ year Sim City player, I wanted to like this game. It seems like you're forced into only one ("the right") solution for traffic optimization and I just never got into it.
Your enthusiasm makes me want to try again.

I too am a long time Sim City player. Have to admit I didn't like Cities Skylines at first, but grew into it after a while and found it better than SC in all aspects except for population size.
In Sim City you had to play a while and tweak your city just right to get the Acropolis (sp?) and 1+ million population.
In Cities Skylines I didn't feel any desire to progress after building all the monuments. Just don't see the reason to keep going. But the ~30ish hours were fun while it lasted.

There is definitely not only one solution for traffic optimization. Theres tons of ways you can get into beating traffic and some are extremely creative. Go look at the subreddit for that game some of those people get really into the traffic side.

My first cities kept having problems with deathcare, education, garbage and I had no idea why.
Getting traffic right was the most satisfying experience of the game. On my last city I was actually enjoying finding pockets of traffic and adjusting the layout to fix the problem.
I could keep doing that for another 30 hours if there was something bigger to strive for in the game.
