Resident Evil 4 or Breath of the Wild?

Which should I play next on Switch? I cannot make up my damn mind. I know that BOTW has been lauded by many knowledgeable commentators as the greatest video game of all time, but it also appears to be overwhelmingly long. RE4 is regarded as one of the most influential horror games in history, but it is older. What say you?

Breath of the Wild technically isn’t long by any measure as you can go straight to the final boss from the tutorial, albeit ill advised given how underpowered you are. Breath of the Wild is one of those games that speed runners have a field day with because it’s so big and has such a dynamic physics and gameplay engine it makes for near infinite possibilities. Plus it’s so big, exploits from oversights in testing are always being found so you can always get something out of it.
RE4 is interesting because it had a few different things it did that the others didn’t do. It has difficulty scaling that eliminates certain enemies in places that make you die too much so you can get through it without noticing unless you really try. That and it took a more grandiose approach to the horror genre, which I liked more. They kind of perfected that in 5 IMO.
Go for 4 if you want a nice linear action narrative you enjoy multiple times or go for BotW if you just want something you can come back to and dick around when you’re bored after you’ve completed most of the main game. BotW is a 200-300 game if you wanna really beat the whole thing. Blind at least.

RE4 easily.
Have you played Ocarina of Time? That’s still the best Zelda.

Breath of the Wild is so relaxing to play. Just a total joy to roam around and take in the sites, absolutely massive and gorgeous world.
Resident Evil seems like a good franchise for people who like to have their balls whipped.

RE4 is where they hit sweet spot between a creepy/horror atmosphere and faster paced, stimulating gameplay without those two things interfering with each other.
It's not a long game, you can pretty much fully experience it in 10-15 hours max. Makes sense to me to knock it out before jumping into BotW which is a game most people play for 50+, if not 100+ hours.

Not going to pay $300 for one game. It’s 2020 every game should be on at least one of PS/XB/PC

Technically it is available on PC. Runs pretty well too
