Question regarding age restriction on PS4 game (Titanfall 2)

So we bought our boys a PS4 last Christmas and they've gotten a few titles over the past year. In that time frame I set them up with subaccounts on PlayStation Network so they could play online, etc.

Up until now when we got the oldest (he's now 14) Titanfall 2, we've never run into any issues with him getting online to play anything. He's now getting a age restriction warning and is not ebing allowed to play online, so after buying this game the only thing he can do is campaign mode, which apparently he just finished.

So...question is...other than simply allowing him to use my main account (I only have it because I set the thing up in my name, I don't play any of this stuff) is there a work around to this other than deleting his subaccount and setting it up again with a fake birthday? It appears if we were to do that, he'd lose whatever crap he's earned having had that username all this time, or something...which I hear isn't ok.

Anyway around this? Thanks.

No, it doesn't appear so. It's listed under my username on PSN as a sub-account, and the option of altering a birthdate is not available. Think it's a security deal or something.

I appreciate SONY wanting to put this restriction on, but it would seem that it ought to be up to parents to decide what and when their kids can do something. I ought to be able to alter his access from my account and do the parenting...

All that being said, we have a work around with him using my main account...it's just not an ideal one. I'd like to fix his if possible.

If there's no way you can change the date of birth on either of the accounts then I'm not sure how you could fix it. You could call Sony and see if they can do anything about it

Awesome...that seems to have done the trick, thanks! I had seen that, but after having done a little bit of research it looked like that wasn;t going to be the right fix so I had never tried it. I was still able to keep him from chatting or hearing other gamers talking, so I won;t have to worry about the 9 year old walking through the room and hearing some 40 year old screaming frick over the internet! haha

Thanks for your help...he was very happy.

I had to go through this when I set up profiles for my kids.
