PS5 unless you really want Gamepass then just spring for a PC
Not really worth buying an Xbox at these prices anymore, Microsoft threw in the towel

The only saving grace for Microsoft and their Xbox strategy is the worst case scenario for gamers.
If prices on components and games continue to rise, they are in the catbird seat for a “you will own nothing” future.
They want their rental model everywhere so they can get steady revenue. If consumers are priced out of computer components and they cannot afford new releases, it’s a great model. And if hardware becomes too costly to produce/sell, they switch to a game pass app powered by azure servers. Probably will end up doing that anyway because relatively few buy their hardware compared to their competition.
If PC continues to be a viable platform, it does everything an Xbox does, but better. And you have steam and 3rd party key resellers to mitigate game costs.
I used to be in the Xbox camp, but they are terrible. Their model is the worst possible future for gaming if it gains a foothold.

GTA and Forza 6 are coming to PS5. Forza 6 is launching late 2026, which is also the GTA 6 window at this point.
Forza 6 is launching May 2026 on Xbox.
If you want to play Forza early, go with XBox, as GTA will launch same time for PS5 and XBox.
Moving beyond that, XBox Gamepass will offer more games to play. Sony will have more exclusives. The cost will equal out close enough between buying games vs. paying for gamepass here and there. You can find Gamepass Ultimate as low as $14/month on various websites.
