My brother and nephew want a PS5.

There seem to be a million options for consoles, etc. I know nothing about these things.

I know online play is a big thing for them. What console package should I be looking at for them for Christmas?

Get the original model ps5 not the new slim model. Get a disk drive too. They pack a game/game code in it sometimes so it should be on the box so if it comes with a free game choose that over a normal package.

Not sure you can find those anywhere.

Get one of the bundles. Just pick the game you think they would like. They have Spiderman 2 and COD MW3 bundles. They were on sale for like $50 less, but seem to be $499 again.

ETA: They seem pretty readily available at Best Buy and Walmart.

So the bundles seem to be like computers with different guts (storage, processors, etc)

Is there a certain console better for online stuff or are they all pretty much the same?

The two bundles available now are the exact same specs on the PS5. Its just the game is different. As far as I can see, its the same specs that I received on my PS5 that I got at launch, except the SSD is a full 1TB (minus the OS) where mine was like 880GB or something. They only come with disc drives right now and are both fine for online play.

as saint said the ps5 bundles are pretty straight forward and the actual spec of the machine dont differ.

if they are younger kids the spiderman game it comes bundle with is new and fantastic. Most games are purchasable through the PS5 online store and downloadable (fairly quickly with good connection) so getting them another game if your inclined would not be hard.
