Croacka, I'm not 100% sure what all of your options are as to getting an activation code for Windows 7, but a MS call may not be a bad idea, as you are looking to stay legit. However, if you have the old drive working, there are ways to get it but it may take some time. If you are running, but not activated, you should be fine until. I have a PC not running activated, but I get these stupid messages all the time.

I would assume so. If you can't get it, I can ask someone from the IT department here and I'm sure we can figure out a way.

i believe i found a notepad file containing the key that i saved on my portable HD long ago.....i think it will work since i believe LSU used a key that would work for multiple users
