I have always been a Playstation owner, going all the way back to PS1. Never owned anything else. I haven't been able to land a PS5 because I'm not willing to pay a ridiculous amount over the base price, and I haven't been lucky enough to find one for the actual price.

So, I've considered moving to a gaming PC, but have absolutely no idea where to start. I've done a little research on the topic, but don't know enough about them to know what is actually a good product, and what is somebody just trying to sell something. I also don't have the knowledge, experience, or time to put into building a gaming PC myself, so I'm leaning towards something pre built.

I know that I 100% want the specs to be as good as, and preferably better than, a PS5 would have. I know that will mean a larger price tag, but that's fine. If I can game on it, and use it for basic internet surfing, etc, I can justify the higher price tag because my current laptop is about 9 years old and getting a bit slow, so it's time for a computer upgrade anyways.

So, what pre-built desktop would the GB recommend that would have good enough performance to be better than a PS5 and worth it, rather than just waiting out a chance at a PS5 eventually?

I really need the total cost to be $1500 for the PC and the monitor. Appearance of the tower itself means basically nothing to me...I don't care if its plain black or if it has all the colored parts. Only care about performance. Thanks!

ETA: I know there's a giant post all about PC gaming, but from what I saw when skimming over that, most of that was about building one yourself, and I don't have the patience to go through 1700+ pages.

Weird, not sure what happened with the links. Just look those up on Newegg.

ABS is good - but their customer service is crap. Just be aware of that. I have one in my home and we use one at church for livestreaming and they run great.

I know you're saying you don't want to build it yourself, but NZXT has started doing something very cool, called BLD Kit:

And this is a video of Jay watching his friend do a build using the service:

I recently bought an HP Omen with a 3060 graphics card and an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 16 GB memory pre built from Best Buy under $1500 with 1-2 day delivery. I absolutely love it. Got a nice 1440 165 Hz curved monitor to go with it and it’s very good for the price. Anything over 3070 gonna cost you an arm and a leg rn. Here’s exactly what I got. Great beginner/Intermediate PC.

Prebuilts are always going to be way shittier than what you can build. They skimp on parts, use cheap RAM, cheap motherboards, cut corners wherever they can, etc.

That said, they should work just fine all things considered. Sorry I have no recommendations as I have always built my systems. It's not hard, but can be time consuming if it's your first time.
