Played the game "Sheltered" on the Xbox

Sheltered, mechanically, is a pretty solid game. Stylistically? It's from a different time in an alternate universe.

This War of Mine covers similar ground, but is a "better" game from an immersion and "tough choices" standpoint.

Fallout shelter is a casual game

This is not.

It is Fallout shelter, but each family member has needs that must be met or they die.

You are constantly trying to fix everything, or they die.

Defend against raiders or they die

Sending people on expeditions to get supplies or they die.

Goods from traders and expedition locales are rng. . .and rations are not common at all.

So you are usually scrambling to locate food.


It is frantic and tedious, simultaneously.

I stopped playing after my second wife died of starvation. . .before I could tell her to eat the food I just got, daughter used it in the dog's bowl.

Not the game for me, but it is wildly popular.
