Combat is more similar to Dragon Quest, but it has several mechanics to add a lot of flavor to a turn based system. If you hit a enemies weakness, you get to attack again, so the strategy becomes hitting enemy weakness so that you can get multiple attacks in. Once you've knocked down every enemy, you can do a party wide attack. It's very fun.

The non-combat pieces play more like an visual novel where you fill you day by doing certain activities, but those activities boost your stats to directly impact your combat ability.
