I have to go. Surely your answer lies somewhere in there.

in short... you might have a fricked up graphics card and need to get a new one.

warranty'd, of course.

feel like calling evga support for a firmware update? lol..

Why would you need evgas help for that?

Download NVFlash and the latest bios for your card. It is as simple as putting the bios file in the NVFlash folder.

Was just going by what I briefly saw in that link. Luckily I've never personally had to do any of this.

But yes, solid advice indeed. Thanks, hope it helps klark

Don't hold your breath for DX12
My question is this, is this good or bad?
Do you guys see microsoft being the main gaming platform of the future or do you see it getting pushed out by something like linux? I don't know enough about programming and platforms to have a strong opinion. I know that a lot of people aren't happy with microsoft and they aren't going out of their way to make gamers happy anymore. I also know Steam is pushing linux. I would love to hear more educated opinions on this though.

How hard would it be for all the games already out to become linux compatable? don't they have to port them all or am I wrong?

They already are. All based on x86 archutiture.

It is simply driver issues.

Linux is great just no fcking applications.

Dx12? Idk. Since dx9 it seems like all dx10-11 shtt just gives me trouble.

Do you think Linux may be the os of choice in the future for pc gamers or is it too early to tell. I also pay little attention to what amd says right now since they are pushing consoles.

Linux and UNIX have been around forever

They won't dethrone ms for consumer.

For server though, they provide competition in this niche nicely

Stable as can be. Fwiw Linux is UNIX with a ui

Yeah, there is little chance that Linux becomes the platform for games unless something major happens with MS.

good morning Master Race,

Sorry about being MIA to your help last night. My parents are in town this weekend before a trip to Austin this weekend.

Okay, so here's a few updates.

Within BioShock, I found 2 settings that use DirectX11. Post-Processing and something about Shadowing. I put both on High instead. Everything else on Ultra. No real change in graphics quality.

I've also taken the time to update my graphics card driver and install the update that Jefforize linked specifically for BioShock Infinite.

Late last night I also updated my mobo bios to the latest version.

I thought surely this morning the issue would be resolved, but nope. Same thing, after about 5 minutes, it freezes for about 5 seconds and goes to a White screen. I have to minimize the application then kill it from Task Manager.

So, i guess the next logical step is to uninstall all the graphics drivers and just install the latest?

Do you have anything else to run? It could be the graphics card.

Have you reinstalled the game yet? Also is it just bioshock with the problem?

this was my next thought. i don't own any other game via Steam. But was eventually going to get Portal 2.

I'll start the d/l or Portal 2 and will test.

meanwhile I will uninstall Bioshock.

eta: err, I've never used Steam, how do i uninstall a game?
