For any prospective buyers worried about length:
My game clock is sitting just under 45 hours. I did pretty 100% of what you can do on a standard NG playthrough and am fixing to advance to NG+. I got every thing you possibly could outside of a few skills just bc I don't feel like grinding. I have 26k worth of coin purses for NG+ but I doubt I need them LOL.

man i didnt think he was that bad
If you've been fighting the bosses the proper Sekiro way up to that point, he probably isn't so bad.
If you've been doing the bosses largely the old fashioned way, it's a rude awakeing, as he's virtually impossible to beat any way but the way you're supposed to.

that's what I love about this game

damn, NG+ is no joke. I gave Kuro's charm back to him at the beginning and it makes everything way harder. If you block instead of deflect, you still take some chip damage. To avoid damage, you have to get perfect deflects. Chained Ogre one-shotted me with a grab attack. You take more damage, but you get way more exp and money. Gonna stick with it for now. Think you have 1 chance to get the charm back (making things easier) but I like the extra farming potential
Now that I can resurrect, it feels like Easy Mode
So nice

Thanks for that list baw. I’m probably gonna put this one on a shelf for a little while because games like these can be so damn stressful, but I’m gonna hit the exploration hard before I get back in the saddle for NG+.

i think the purification ending is the most convoluted. so much bullshite and eavesdropping, i never would've guessed to eavesdrop in kuro's room
Only reason I'll play NG+ to be honest.
Especially after I went through all the bullshite to get both hearts

you don't need hearts for Purification, just Return. I got those organically.
For Purification, you need the everblossom branch. wouldn't have gotten it without a guide. you have to eavesdrop on Kuro and Emma, never would've thought to do that

Ok whichever one is the most complicated is the ending I want because that (IMO) is the best one.
SPOOOOOOILER
Whichever ending where Kuro is absorbed in to the chick's heart and Sekiro accompanies her to "the West".

Yeah, that's Return. If you want to get the platinum trophy, do everything for every ending and save scum right before you make the choices

I'm absolutely crushing NG+ so far, I've made it all the way through Ashina castle and meet up with Kuro and only perma-died once (the bull got me, and only because I engaged the fight with only a few flask charges). Also cleared the estates.
Knowing the enemy placements and how to get around and all the major fights already, you just sorta plow through it like a machine. I can see why they added the Kuro charm mechanic (and the bell mechanic) for people who want more of a challenge. I didn't give the charm back, I wanted to see how difficult vanilla NG+ was. Enemies doing a lot more damage is the biggest thing, your posture break also seems to build up slightly faster too.

If I'm not mistaken, there are 2 endings available after your big choice on the top of Ashina castle right?
I got the Return ending on my first playthrough, got it organically too, it wasn't particularly difficult to unlock or figure out, the NPC's made it very clear what all steps you needed to do.
And I could obviously at the end choose the Return or the Sever ending I assume.
This time around I'm going to choose the opposite choice, and I would assume that path also leads to the other 2 endings, depending on what you do from there.

No, the opposite choice of the big one on the top of Ashina castle only leads to the "bad" ending. All three other endings lead from the "good" choice on top of the castle. You have the standard good ending (Severance) which is what I got, then if you do some extra legwork you can get Purification and then Return, with Return requiring the most extra work.

bad choice = bad ending
good choice = 3 possible good endings

giving the charm back makes it more difficult
the idea is that the charm "protects" you.

I wonder why i can't find this written anywhere. The wiki doesnt even have a page for that. My testing lead to the the following results:
- Enemies gain more Vitality and Posture (smth around 30%)
- Enemies deal more damage (e.g. all grapple attacks from the chained ogre kill you instantly)
- You receive around 20% more Sen
- You receive around 15% faster Skill-point-gain
- as already mentioned: Blocking physical attacks (basically missing the deflect) makes you take about half of the damage of the attack.

Ya I know I meant I wanted to see how difficult it was with possession of the charm first, before diving in without it
I'm also assuming the bell demon difficulty modifier and bonuses stacks?

ah i see, reading it back again I see how you meant it. Yes, bell demon stacks
i gave it back so I could speed up the farming process. dont want to spend a whole weekend just grinding skill points.

I know this is petty but did yall keep English text and Japanese voice? Or switch the Japanese voice to English?
Posted on 4/2/19 at 12:51 pm to ShootingsBricks4Life

Is there an easy place to see what the icons mean on the bottom left of the screen (on top of your health bar)?
