Im level 18 with my demon hunter.. I'm technically in act 2 but I went back to act 1 to replay some of the story and do a little magic finding. Got some good gear.. my level 18 DH has primarily magic finding gear on but I still have over 1000 health and 100 dps along with over 50% magic find

To access the auctionhouse, exit the game so you're at your character selection screen. There's a button there.
Crafting is simple, I don't get why so many people seem to be confused by it. You level crafting by spending gold to upgrade it, and you upgrade it to have the ability to craft new items. To actually craft items, you have to get materials from salvaging weapons with magical attributes (magic, rare, or better weapons) that you find from mobs. You can salvage the weapons you created, but that seems like a big waste.

You can buy components to craft from the auction house at around 22g a piece. Much better than breaking down items that will only give you one component and are worth more than 22g. I just sell all my stuff and buy components when I want to craft from the auction house.
Wondering if the price of components will ever go up. I know a couple of friends and I that bought massive amounts at 20g. Waiting for the price to rise and I'll sell them at a higher price.

a mob is an old term from an ancient game I used to play for 'enemies', particularly a group of enemies. I don't know why an enemy is called a 'mob' but I still use that term today without even realizing it

Short for mobile NPC's. Which are usually enemies.

Mob is a group of enemies..
Still believe everyone still says that. Not sure what else you would say. ???

not neccessarily. I call a group of enemies 'mobs', and I've seen many people do the same thing. That's why I wondered where it came from.

Going off what you are saying..
The following terms/saying were stolen from the gaming community.
FTW
FML
OWN
PWNED
NEWB
Things of that nature. We have been saying this since late 00-01 when I first started online gaming.
For those who think FML was always Fckk My Life, it started out as For My Loss.

EQ term iirc.

Gaming has breached mainstream society and some of the terminology has leaked over and will continue to as gaming permeates through our culture. To me it's a win.. Have to seem less and less nerdy to play games.

It was the transition of console games making its way to the casual gamer.
Yes, it has made its way over to mainstream. Win for the community none the less.

What is everyone using for skills for the DH? I'm level 40 in act 2 of nightmare and I am finding out that the defensive skills are absolutely crucial as the the difficulty increases. Vault is essential, I think it has to be in every DH build. Also, using Caltrops to help in kiting the tougher mobs.
I am happy with my AOE and single enemy damage using Shakram and Bola shot for AOE and using Entangling Shot and Rapid Fire for single target damage.
I did use grenades for most of normal difficultly after I unlocked it for hatred regen and AOE damage, but found out in Act 4 of normal and all of nightmare the range is too small and I was too exposed to the mobs.
Having a lot of fun with the Demon Hunter.

Also I'm noticing gold prices for quivers are outrageous on the auction house.
1.) Buy components from auction house
2.) Craft quivers (or other item that has inflated prices on the auction house)
3.) Auction item for significantly less than others (but still enough to offset component and crafting price).
4.) Profit
You can make a lot of money on games when real time economies first go live. Prices are so out of range. I expect they'll righten after a while.
