Got one for Christmas last year. Played it alot for three months then put in drawer that i only pull out as a novelty item when friends are over.

Cool as shoot honestly. But i have a three year old and a six year old and a needy arse wife and i dont have time to give THAT wrapped up in something.

But if you got some extra cash and want something that is pretty damn cool go for it.

I ordered the bigger one. Got the Imagine dragons edition of beat saber for my kid. not lettingf him play it until closer to christmas. I goit resident evil 4 from the oculus store and the walking dead S&S from steam store. havent tried hooking oculus to my PC yet but ive also been busy with a lot of junk. I'm certain you can easily get your moneys woreth of entertainment out of it.

My daughter has one. She plays Beat Saber. I got us Super Hot, but I've played it more than her.

My nephew got into the Half Life games, and really loved Half Life Alyx.

Is Meta Quest the same thing? My kid wants an Oculus for Christmas but I'm not seeing those online so I want to be sure I'm getting the right thing.

ETA: Would I need the 256 GB one, or is 128 more than enough?

I have the 64 GB one, I think.

Never had a problem with space

Download the "Big Picture" app

Really cool. Let's you stream a movie from your PC, and puts it on a huge movie screen. You can invite a friend with an Oculus/Meta Quest. They can sit next to you in the theater, and you can chat as if you are right there. My little girl's best friend moved to Alabama last year. They used to watch Anime together. They are able to keep doing it with the app.

Do you have a lot of games on it? I'm sure my kid will use it mostly for beat sabre, but I like to download and play games. How much space do those typically take up?

Also, how much space do the system files take up?

We don't own a PC and I don't really see a need to purchase one. These new Meta Quests supposedly don't need a PC so that's very appealing to me. Do you think you'd still enjoy your headset if you didn't have a PC to stream games from?

Thanks for answering my questions. I just don't want to buy one if it's going to sit around collecting dust because it isn't fun.

Do they still have virtual roller coaster apps? My younger daughter loved those on our Samsung VR headset back in the day.

I had one for a while to use with X-Plane 11. It was certainly fun but the resolution and the hardware needed just isn’t there yet. All the gauges in the cockpit were very difficult to make out and the screen tearing made your stomach turn.

Just got the Meta Quest 2 today to give to my oldest for her birthday. I set it up and my wife and I played on it a bit to see what accessories we thought we may need.

Great, great fun. Played the Beat Saber demo and I can already tell we'll be playing the crap out of that game.
