A team of Russians and another team of Japanese have both hacked it and got it running other games now. One of them has it running a version of Linux.

Yeah, the kneeling trick in Simon's Quest was a bitch. The game tells you at one point that you have to kneel with the red crystal, but it conveniently forgets to mention that you have to stay there for a goodly amount of time. So I went to the cliff, knelt with the crystal, and when nothing happened immediately, my impatient-kid-self said, "Welp, I guess that's not it after all," and I went to look elsewhere. I didn't figure it out until I found one of those How To Win At Nintendo Games books at Waldenbooks in the mall and read how to do it.
I can still vividly remember getting to the end of the game and beating Dracula. I think that may have been the first game I ever finished all the way through.
