New fortnite gamer question

Hey guys and girls,
I bought my son a ps5 for Christmas and he’s been playing fortnite of course.
I wanted to get him some vbucks for bringing home straight A’s again this week.
He wanted vbucks for new skins but someone told me a new season of fortnite may come out soon. So would these skins be worthless?
Do they realease a new season several times a year?
Trying to understand and wondering if I should save vbucks or a battle pass for the next season

skins you buy can be used from season to season. you can also use the vbucks to buy the season pass.

Wait and get the new Season Pass (Battle Pass), he'll get skins thru completing levels and make the V-bucks back you spent to get the random skins that you can buy.

If he wants one of the current available skins get it now. Otherwise wait. Some he'll be able to earn from doing quests.
