Need to buy PS4 gaming gear for a kid, please advise

The boy is 8yo and wants gaming gear. Open to actual games too though I don’t know what he already has. I know he likes basketball. TIA (sorry I know this is kinda vague).

He's 8. Tell him to write what he wants for christmas so you can show Santa then buy that. It'll probably be the newest NBA 2k game.
