So after talking to you guys before Christmas, I got a computer with a GeForce GTX 980 and I REALLY need to get the kid a new monitor. He's going to pay for it but I don't really wanting him to spend over $200.00

What are your thoughts on the 21:9 aspects and do you think this is a descent deal?

LG 25UM56-P 25” Class 21:9 UltraWide IPS Gaming for 139.00

If not to that one, can I get some recommendations ?

He's into FPS game and really into Warcraft. Thanks in advanced

I just got back into the pc race a few months ago. but from what i know, RESPONSE TIME and HZ is king. I just upgraded from a 60hz 1ms monitor( benq 350$ monitor) to a 144hz ASUS 1ms monitor and the difference is fricking amazing. I love this thing. it was pricey @ 250$.... but well worth it.

I would actually sacrifice bigger, for faster in this case.

I tried to loook up that monitor on AMAZON, and it doesnt provide hz or response time. But if they aren't boasting 1ms response time, it probably doesnt have it...

heres a few i looked up real quick

Someone else can probably explain wtf freesync does, but this is a 1ms 24' asus @ 75hz LINK

ASUS 24' 1ms 144hz - this monitor was 235$ before xmas, its the one i bought 144hz - 1ms response time. its now sitting @ 280$ 24' - 300 for 27'

Acer 24' 1ms 144hz - same as above, just slightly cheaper brand. Still great monitor @ 206 LINK

viewsonic 24' 1ms 144hz @ 259.99 LINK

If the kids just playing WoW, 144hz really wont do much i think... but i play fps and had my 60hz benq next to my 144hz asus and the difference is very noticable when playing.

It will prevent screen tearing well beyond the typical 60hz
