*Need Help!* - How to set up a USB N64 controller

Just bought a N64 controller for the emulator I just installed on my PC.
When I plugged it in to the USB port it says the device is “unrecognized” and the inputs won’t display in controller set up.
Is there something special I need to do to get this thing work? Im new to this stuff.
I’m running Windows 7 fwiw

I would first Google the model, and see if other people are having similar problems. You may need to download something.

Some emulators don’t automatically connect to a usb controller. If the emulator is defaulting to the keyboard then you might have to go into the emulator settings and set up the controller from inside there.
