I guess it's just completely random as to who you get. Bc my o-line is still all 66 overall or lower except for Barrett jones as my center.

And yeah Barbe, I'm assuming it's just little rich snots who buy 50 packs and are stacked right away. That's pretty dumb to me bc it takes the fun out of building a team. Bc IMO once you get to 99 overall in both sides of the ball, I don't see why you'd keep going much longer once you get players you like.
ETA: after you've played with the players you got for awhile. If I started with everyone I wanted right away I'd probably just play every once in awhile and focus more on dynasties. Most of the affecting fun is collecting coins to get new packs. Reminds me when I used to be so stoked about opening up a new pack of baseball/football cards

I really believe that investing just $5 makes all the difference.

I may have been really lucky, but I bought two of the 99 cent gold upgrade packs (same players, kept one group, sold the duplicates.) I bought two of the 1.49 packs. I did get a blue Charlie Ward, and a blue Doug Flutie. I sold those two and that gave me enough to get rolling.

I can't see spending 20 bucks or 50 bucks (or more), but 5 bucks made all of the difference in the world for me.

I'll never spend another penny of real money.

I also did some of the Nike Skills challenges and had a pre-order pack from Gamestop.

Those helped me a lot, also.

I totally understand what you did. I just hate people who buy the huge bundle and have a 99 overall team before playing a game

I agree. I'm usually pretty terrible though, and run out of contracts before I accumulate any coins, so I need a bit of a kick start.

I also spend a lot of time working the market. Buy low/sell high. Selling players that are hard to come by and buy a reasonable alternative, selling players that are needed for the collections, etc.

I sold that blue Charlie Ward for 27K and bought a gold Eli for 3K. That difference helps me buy more packs and build depth in my squad. Sure, the Ward was a 93, but an 89 Eli was a hell of an upgrade over the 70 Christian Ponder that came with my first pack.

Have you guys been hitting the auction blick? Have not had much luck selling but have been getting a lot of well timed value picks to really elevate the average skill level. I've lucked out on a couple 90+ like Dez Bryant but missed on Mingo last minute , was so pissed

Yeah, I really just buy, not sell. How much was Dez?

Got him for 4500 coins and he's an 89 overall. I probably overpaid for it, but I sort of just jumped at it, I didn't have other receivers over 80

Just wanted to say that I just got a Barkevious Mingo gold card for 850 coins. I think the poster had no idea how auctions work.

Damn thats impressive

I got Mingo for around 1200 i want to say. which is still a steal considering most of the time I see him for like 3000 and up.

I don't see many LSU guys that aren't outrageously expensive. Really want to Mathieu and Peterson, but I have a feeling that will only be through cards bc people are putting 20k and up price tags on them bitches

Almost got Mathieu for 5000 coins last night but the way the bidding works you don't find out you're outbid until it's too late

I'd suggest scrolling over on the auction to the buy now section and adjusting the order by price.

I have found a lot of upper 85+ players for less than 2000 coins.

I'm contemplating building my team from now on through the auction instead of the damn 7500 coins All-American packs. Those all-american packs have given me way too many damn mascots.

Just got a 90 overall Drew Brees for 2700. The auction block is much better than the packs. EA is so money hungry, making the packs cost a ton of coins but so cheap to buy in cash.

And filling the packs with so much stupid shite that you have to buy a lot of them to get anything good.

I still haven't quite figured out how to price a lot of the stuff I have for the auction, but I have been abusing it on for strengthening my D.

Getting gold on all the skills challenges helped a ton. I just wish they had divided up the type of players you get a little better. I hate that I got like 5 QB's from it.

Yeah they shouldn't have replaced Hernandez with another QB. A silver Gronkowski would have been nice

Yeah I have like 3 or 4 QB's from those skill challenges I will never use and not like I will make much from auctioning them since everyone can get them so easily

I sort the players by Ratings on the Auction house.

Then I scroll over to the buy now price and just look. Most of them are really expensive (since I sorted by highest rating) BUT I will find someone that a buyout is much lower than it should be. So I will buy it and either A keep it or B flip it for a profit.

Getting into a bidding war is so damn frustrating. They really need to fix it to where its live time knowing who you're bidding against and exactly how much time is left. And they need to fricking update your coins as soon as you get outbid. It hasn't been doing this so when I'm in the middle of a bidding war I have to hurry and get back to the main menu and rush back into Ultimate Team to get my coins to refresh and half the time its over. For whatever reason after you've been outbid, it won't let you bid again if what you have left after your first bid isn't enough to cover the second bid.
I've lost out on 3 HUGE steals because of this already and it's pretty maddening.

Oh and they updated Game Extensions to where 25 is only 300 coins and they added a 10 game one for 150. Im so glad they did this because it was getting on my nerves paying 800 coins for ONE 25 game extension. If you had three or four guys come up expired at a time, you get screwed. Now you can manage those binds much more easily.

It would be awesome if there was an EBay like website for Ultimate Team. Maybe in College Football 18

Anyone else having an immense amount of trouble getting into a game? They either exit the loading screen or the connection fails right at the kick off screen
