NBA 2k19 online question

I don’t use player control so idk but team control allows you to use the whole team.

Also as you advance through the ranked tiers, you’ll unlock more players/historic teams to use. I think the 97-98 Lakers is a tier 3 team iirc but might be tier 2. 2k tried to match you vs your same tier 3 users but if there’s not enough in que, it’ll grab from the next one up.

So the three tiers are split by how good the teams are, though some of the historic teams in tier 3 and 2 are 90+ overall. Tier 1 had the Rockets, Warriors, Thunder, Celtics, 76ers, Nuggets, and Lakers. In team control, I can play as any of these teams but only in this tier. In tier 3, I’d have lesser teams to choose from. As you win games, you’ll progress through the ranked tiers, or for this exercise we’ll call them levels. There’s 10 levels, the highest being GOAT. As you progress through them, you’ll unlock historic teams and legends to use in the game. It’s all unlockable via grinding online PNO. There’s no way to buy them or grind offline vs CPU. I’ve heard player lock is glitched and doesn’t let you advance levels but I’ve only read that once from one person on the cesspool that is reddit.

You can download a historic roster if you wanted to play with your kids and use the legends. It’ll be a community roster that probably isn’t perfect. I’ve found 2k’s community rosters to be glitchy though. Like I’ll download somebody’s 1985 roster, and it’ll have all modern players. Idk why it does that.
