I know you people love some Monster Hunter Stories but the big one is MH:Rise.

Here’s the full direct presentation

There will be more info on it during the Tokyo Game show which I believe is the 25th of this month.

Right after I make a breath of the wild impact thread and some of you shite on me, Monster Hunter goes ahead and does this. Eat shite. I’m super hyped for this after playing 3. The new monsters look interesting and I’ve been waiting for some fast paced combat. Any of you PS guys thinking about picking this up? I wanted to get world so bad but my PlayStation has to kick the bucket for more pressing matters.

I'd think about giving these games a try if they'd put some damn health bars on the monsters. What's the deal with that?

I've seen some PC mods that can do it, but I'm only on console.

They want you to use clues the monster gives you to determine what their HP is but really i cant stand it either sometimes. You've got the monster limping around for 10minutes and its like just okay exactly how much more hp do you have

Yeah, that must be really annoying. With all of the QoL improvements they made with World, you'd think they'd just add a monster health bar as an OPTION

Wait but didn't you agree that BotW wasn't as innovative as people said it was?

I should be able to say "Eat shite."

I tried to play World on Game Pass a while back and I just couldn't get into it. I don't think I understand the purpose of these games.

They are weird games.

I've tried 3 of them and I've had lukewarm reactions to each of them.

I will try this one though. The BotW flavor is strong in this one.

This was one of the last replies before the thread died off from myself that only the latter half of that post was replied to anyway:

I made this thread specifically for that reason. I wanted people’s opinion on it relative to their specific tastes and allegiances/perspectives. To be fair, the topic was more or less made out of spite from a comment section I saw out from a Youtube preview of Immortals Fenyx Rising. Just so much bashing of a game just because its setup was similar. But it was really a buildup of several games I’ve seen lately where people are so quick to write off as BotW clones. A really good example is Genshin Impact, which really outside of I think the stamina mechanic turned out nothing like the aforementioned Zelda title.

People see one mechanic in a game and they instantly associate it with another, more influential or popular game. One of the major points I was trying to illustrate is just the fact sure, games like the Witcher and others did blow a hole in the gaming industry like few before it. But can you really say like, okay, you have the Witcher 3, Red Dead and Skyrim up against eachother. Can you really say one is a clone of the other or don’t you think it’s more appropriate that they’re just more open world/sandbox games made by huge companies? I don’t think there is enough of a distinction between games like the above three and others like them to really make such a statement as I believe you can make with breath of the wild against other games.

I suppose Prince of Persia is one game that could derail my point but that was more of a parkour type game rather than an exploration game.

That being said, I hope MHR isn’t riddled with micro transactions for content that’s Nintendo related like I’m sure they’ll do in later patches. I hope it’s free.
