MK1 Khaos Reigns Announcement Trailer

September 24 release date - Havik takes over for this story, which seems awesome to me because continually repeating Shao Khan and Shang Tsung was getting a little stale.
Also announced animalities that will come out as a free expansion alongside Khaos Reigns.
DLC Characters included with the expansion (Kombat Pack 2?):
Noob Sabot
Female Sektor (but why?)
Female Cyrax (but why?)
Ghostface from Scream
Conan the Barbarian - Arnold Schwarzenegger
T-1000 from Terminator 2 - Robert Patrick
I was super pumped about MK1 when it came out, but it's been kind of dull for me. Invasions mode is too repetitive with garbage fights.

felt fairly underwhelmed by the new content. I'll still get it, but I'm not all that thrilled about whats on offer.
Not really sure why they needed to gender swap cyrax and sektor. Guess reddit would get mad if they had a whole dlc lineup of male characters again?
Ghostface - random guy with a knife who makes edgy quotes about scary movies? not exactly a compelling pick for a guest.
T-1000 - emotionless robert patrick. I'm sure that character will be dripping with personality.
Conan - sure? guess they needed to double dip on getting Arnold's likeness for the T-800 last time around.

This seems to be the only reason. There's a contingent of losers out there who constantly whine about not enough female characters, which is crazy because every female they put in the game is unattractive now. Like they intentionally went out of their way to make them ugly.

I agree these are fairly underwhelming. I had seen Ghostface, Cyrax, Noob, and Sektor rumored previously so it's a little anticlimactic for those to actually be the new DLC characters. But who knows? They've surprised me before with guest characters that I thought would suck and didn't.

As a fan of both Scream and MK, I don’t see how they make Ghostface into a compelling fighter. He’s typically some combination of skinny teenagers who get their asses kicked.
Side note: I’ve always wanted to make a fighting game with an all slasher roster. Freddy vs. Pinhead, Michael Myers vs. Jason, Leprechaun vs. Chucky, the Creeper vs. Art the Clown.
Maybe there’s more potential in my head than what would actually translate haha

They're definitely going to have to give the character more of a mystical aspect to make this work.

Gamers are not fans of the gender-swapped Cyrax and Sektor. Not only are they female, but they're also extremely unattractive just like nearly every other female in the game.

I do find it hysterical that they absolutely must make women models unattractive.
For another recent amusing example of this, look up the person they modeled that new Star Wars female protagonist off of. The actual woman is attractive and the character model is just needlessly ugly.
Going back to topic, they should have pulled the mk11 story mode character models for cyrax and sektor out of the recyling bin. Those skins were dope.

They did the same thing in this game. Megan Fox plays Nitara and they somehow managed to make her unattractive. I honestly can't believe Megan Fox agreed to it after seeing the final product, but I guess she got paid.
