It says I have to buy the online franchise, 800 points? How much would this be?

If you bought the game, you should have a code on the back of your instruction booklet. If you have that code, you dont have to pay the 800 points.

I suggest to people who are questioning on signing up...to sign up. Even if you are really bad. No one will run it up and be an arse in this league on you. It's a really good time and a franchise against other users vs playing the ciomputer is so much more fun. I strongly reccomend you signing up

Do we need to lay some ground rules on gameplay? i.e. cheesing, overuse of wildcat, running up the score, etc
plus qtr length, clock run off, skill level

We definitely will..

First we need at least 12 people to play in this franchise or its not going to be any fun at all IMO.

We are at 7 right now and that number needs to grow.

Also people who have signed up please hold off on PLAYING YOUR GAMES ! So that way some people wont be turned off in starting 0-1 already. I know the Cardinals user already played his game but he played against the 49ers so I don't think it will make that big of a deal with him. But all other users please hold off unless you are playing another USER then get with him asap to get your game in.

How do you make enforcable rules about "overuse" of the wildcat? And running up the score? Just let everybody play their game, and as long as nobody quits because they're losing everything's cool.

I have a friend who's getting xbox 360, madden, and live on Thursday. I know he'll want to play with the Cowboys if they're still available.

You punish the ones who run up the score and overuse the Wildcat. You don't let them play their next game. Let their opponent play against the CPU.

The Wildcat exploits major faults in the the AI.
This is supposed to be a friendly league so I would hope nobody is running up the score or going for it on 4th down in your own territory. If that is the way this league will be then I will gladly give up my team.

I only occasioanlly run the wildcat, but I don't care if somebody uses it on me. It can be stopped. you sound like you've lost a few games to the wildcat..

I'm also not one to run up the score, but I don't care if somebody is scoring a lot on me.

But I usually go for it on 4th and inches in my territory.

You're just trying to apply too many rules that don't need to be. You come across as a whiner. Just relax and play...

I don't play randoms online so I have only run into a few people that use the Wildcat and they use it sparingly because it can be stopped. I prefer to play the most sim like style of football and I don't see many NFL teams going for it on 4th down in their own territory in the first 3 quarters of a game. Especially if it is a close game or if they are up a lot. If you are down a large margin then it is understandable. It's simple rules, don't be one of those that can't win so they do the same plays over and over again because it exploits horrible AI. I can give you multiple plays that go under this category.
