Just beat it and it's the most fun I've had playing a game in a while. Got the wrong ending, so I didnt get to fight the nameless puppet or whatever the last puppets name is, but will do another playthrough later.

Didn’t realize this was free on Game Pass. About to jump in. Is this a game where you need to make a build like Dark Souls?

Yeah. I played this playthrough with an Advanced build. Advanced build has all the fire/acid/electric weapons in it. There aren't as many weapons with this, but the ones they do have are really good. Also, use your Throwables. They are so OP in this game. You can almost singlehandedly beat most bosses with these. Awesome game. Now just gotta wait a week till Lord of the Fallen comes out.

Can someone please help me with the black rabbit brotherhood round 2? I’ve beaten every Souls game and never been this frustrated. I am fighting solo

It’s the fricking brother with fire that is getting me. He keeps overheating me

I beat them with Throwables. Took out most of his squad as quick as possible and then pelted the big guy with every throwable I had.

Thanks man. I went with the Advanced also. Seemed like the best stat spread for starting out.

No prob. You get the Electric coil stick pretty quick. Like right after you beat the first boss. You can buy it from a vender you come across. I used that until very late in the game.

Im just starting it but does larger weapons block more damage than smaller weapons (IE. The large starter sword vs puppet saber or rapier). I know a perfect block negates all damage but the block that starts "rally" where you can regain your health.

Yeah I believe so. It should tell you in the weapon stats.

I ended up using a specter to beat them easily. I wanted to solo them but since the game “cheated” by doing 3 on one with one of those three having an unblockable fire attack I said F it and “cheated” for one boss fight with the specter

Acid will melt her first phase. Be sure to destroy the shield on her back. Parry the lightning at the start of phase 2. You can also use the perfect grindstone and just hold block. I used acid again in phase 2. Aegis arm helps a ton as well.

Thanks. I hate myself for it but used a specter and beat her first try. I hate these two phase bosses because you don’t get to practice the second round

Nah man, I feel the same way. Some bosses I could do phase one blindfolded I had to do it so many times and phase two lasted 4 seconds

I shamelessly used the specter for pretty much every fight if I had star fragments. And the cube stone that gives them a defense buff.

Just beat the game and I used them twice. There’s a certain high you get for soloing a boss after 50 or so tries. This was a top 5 Souls game.

So after beating it three times I wanted to put to the test if I could beat the game without perfect parrying bosses and relying on the many many other game systems in mechanics.

For regular enemies there really isnt ever any justified reason to attempt a perfect parry. You could get it and then just kill them or more likely miss and take full damage. Or you can just block and take the chip damage then use the rally system to kill them and get it back.

Bosses was substantially different and each one was more or less hard trying this. I did beat the game including the true final boss nameless puppet without perfect parrying a single boss but it took me like 60 hours. It is definitely not fun and I can see why this system ifsomeone tried it first run would immediately lead them to saying frick this game.

I found the most optimal way to achieve this was spec heavy into the bottom stat forgot its name that governs elemental damage. Use the arm craft that is essentially a flame flower with A scale in that stat. Use the flaming dagger you find like 1/3 into the game that scales B to it and C to dex. Use a crank on each to raise it to A abd B respectively. Use a lot of throwables and rely on the consumables and grinders to add elemental effects to your weapons.

I kept the flame dagger all game and eventually began raising the dex skill and kept winters rapier until you get the best dex weapon in the game like 85% of the way through as my alt.

Funnily enough this onne boss was probably the far easiest in my no parrys run i laid out above since I scaled to the limit in elemental damage and acid absolutely obliterates her.

I dont sleep very much. Plus after my first run I was able to beat standard playthroughs in like 15 hours so theres like 100 hours invested. Thats not too much really. I mean the game has been out almost a month and 3 days longer for me.

I was going to take a wait and see on lords of fallen but ive fallen to the hype machine and preordered for the instal unlock lol
