Anybody know what that means?

You joined a covenant, or at least can now if you didn't before. They are the purple spirits right? Mound makers, I think. That's their shrine to turn in your "tokens" from invaders you kill. Or from turning on, and killing, a player who summons you to help them. Mound makers dont care who they kill, good or bad, they get tokens for either.

Eta: there are some pretty funny "mound maker trolling" vids on YouTube. Get summoned, help someone fight through an entire level, then kick them off a ledge at the end. shite like that. It was the MO for that covenant when the game first came out. The cathedral roof was a great place for that.

Going to make a cup of coffee and grind some souls and material. Anyone know the best places for the shards? I need 4 to upgrade the bow again. Plus, I normally just blow (no gay) all my souls when I get back. To scared of dying twice and losing out in 10k souls.

What's the longest everyone has spent on a fight? I have a feeling Nameless King is going to take me a few nights... if I ever beat him. I can get to phase 2 no problem now, but I don't feel I'm getting better against him. Just total wreckage. And I'm not enjoying it.

I tried him a couple times and can't even get past the halfway point of phase 1. I can't get close enough to the dragon.

There are a few moves he does that are really the only good times to swipe at the dragon. First off, go for the head. Swiping at it's feet doesn't take away much health at all. When he does his fire breath while on the ground, roll diagonal towards his head and you can get a few good swipes in. The other one is when he does that lighting slam to the ground. I still haven't figured out how to avoid getting hit by this, but it doesn't take off too much health and you can get in some hits there as well. He also does this swooping stab move that you can get in a few on it's neck or head, but he occasionally does a second swipe, and since it's easy to lose track of where he's at, if you can't see where he has his weapon, just start dodging and get away from it. If you can't see him at all but there's a few of the feathers hanging down from the top of the screen, start rolling like mad. That flame downburst attack is brutal and can kill you instantly once it slams to the ground.

Trying to remember where I got a lot of shards. The large titanite shards were a constant drop in the Smoldering Lake, but you're still a ways away from that. But that's the perfect area to farm large ones once you get there.

ETA Reading the wiki, Undead Settlement is a good place to farm them.

That used to make me too tense about playing these games: losing souls. But it's going to happen and you'll get more. Sucks when you lose a ton but it happens to everyone.

It's a super fun fight when you get the tells and timings down.

Watched a video on it just now and it LOOKS like it shouldn't be all that difficult. I did read the hit boxes for his attacks are ridiculously large, so that's adding to it.

Just fought the polar knight and got his sword. Funny. If you open doors in this game while someone is attacking you; you take no damage!

Fought the tree for the first time and got him down to 50% health. I was probably too close just tanking my way into those puss balls on his belly. May stay away a good bit and just see if I can cheese them with the bow.

There are also boils on it's limbs that you can target. My strategy was to take out the ones on it's front as fast as possible to trigger phase 2, then focus on what was easy while avoiding his swiping arm.
