FYI, if you have enough space, you can get two full price games for $100 if one has not released yet and the other has. It is a pre-order of sorts with $20 off two games.
So if you want SSB now and Mario Maker 2 in a couple of weeks, you should do the voucher.

Got Kirby All Stars for my children on vacation last summer due to rain. Pretty fun game, and overcooked food 2 was a fun little game as well.

Tropical Freeze would definitely be in the top five switch games for me. I was sort of blown away by how good it is.
I think it's the best platformer on the system, unless you're counting super mario 3.
Also, for the OP, if you like RPG's then the Valkyria Chronicles games are worth a shot.
There's a ton of great indies on Switch. Way too many to list. A few examples: Steamworld Dig 2, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, Into the Breach.

Hollow Knight. It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played and I’d pay a lot of money to zap my memory so I could experience it again for the first time.

Battle Chasers: Night War is a blast of an rpg
Xenoblade is another solid rpg
Skyrim is the best game ever made. It's alot of fun on the switch.
Pokémon is another no brainer Nintendo pick.
Stardew valley is a unique game that is a huge mindless time sink if you're into it.
Mortal Kombat is tons of fun.
