Some people, epecially PUGs,use gaming as a way to blow off steam from the day and have a good time. They don't want to play games to stress themselves out even further.

If you aren't playing at competition levels, then you need to just let it go. Us older gamers don't need to stress out needlessly for what is just games. Moronic faster path to heart attacks is all it is...

I'm with ya Dam.

As an old man, er, older gamer I mean, I play for the fun. Currently in WoT and on a Lortab for gall bladder spasms causing loads of pain. Yet still shootin and runnin wild in light tanks and giving the yeunglings grief in chat when they blow up verbally. Either way it's fun, blow em up shootin or blow em up chattin.

Besides only been playing the game for a week as of tomorrow, not leveled up nearly enough to play this game competitively. Of course if I was some streamer making a load of money off sponsors, donors, etc.,I might be more serious. Outside of that, anyone wants to tell me how or what to play can pay my way if they want that priviledge.

Some games (like Heroes and Generals) have a bad model that mixes pay-to-win players with noobs. This is where you often see the pay-to-win players bitching about noobs, with noobs responding with "it's just a game".

So there I was, in a game of Comp. CS:GO Match. We were winning 11-3 and we were terrorists. The map was Dust II, and we got the plant down on B site. Some came in from the window, and a guy ninja defused and one of our teammates (randoms), just absolutely lost his shite. Just started cussing everyone out and saying how fricking pathetic we were and that we shouldn't be playing at all (he was at the bottom of the leaderboard for our team). So I was like whoa whoa whoa.. calm down there big guy, we have a 11-4 lead. It's NOT that serious. He was just like "frick you man, I hate getting Ninja defused." I was just like, ok I understand it sucks but you're not getting paid to play this game. You're not being recruited, you are just some low level Gold Nova rank that is playing in a blowout game. Calm the frick down. He apologized and we finished it out.

If you're that competitive that you rage about a video game, you need professional help. That's why I avoid COD, BF, Halo, Destiny...hell, any FPS online is a bubbling crockpot of misdirected rage. Those games appeal to the lowest common denominator anyway.

TLOU was the last online I played. I was pretty dang good, too. I never had a team and rarely spoke on chat, but I'd hear others bitch about me when I inevitably made a mistake or did something they didn't like. Telling me how I should play when I usually have the most kills and/or revives.

So I guess chalk me up as the "It's just a game" goober.

I rage hardcore at the programming in a videogame more so than my opponent (unless my opponent is abusing said poor programming). Being that I am primarily a sports gamer, it is infuriating to know EXACTLY what my opponent is going to do, calling or performing a play/move that should counter it, yet the programming decides it doesn't want to allow it to benefit me.

Ha, yeah. I bailed out on NCAA football online many years ago for that very reason. IIRC, there was a guy who ran a fake FG play almost every play that couldn't be stopped unless I played a FG safe defense. On 1st down at his 20 in the 1st Qtr. Any other defense would leave someone wide open.

Seriously, between glitchers, laggers, tryhards, and trolls, online gaming just isn't worth it to me. But, to each his own. My BP is just fine in single player.
