My uncle was big into flight simulators in the '80s, But now no longer games.

He retired in January, I'm going to visit him so I wanted to get a gift. He help me a lot through college so I want to get him something to help him with retirement.

I've never played VR, But seem to think it's more interactive versus console video games, and it's more about the user experience.

He also has an 14-year-old daughter (nongamer as well), so it may be something that they could potentially be into as well.

Is the Oculus more of a novelty that wears off a week or two after you buy it or is it something that is supported enough and compelling enough to be worth the 300 bucks?

If you have an Oculus do you get free games with it or do you have to buy every single experience?

How active is he?

Oculus has a few good games for getting people up and being active like Beat Saber and Pistol Whip. I've been playing VR pretty hardcore since Vive launch, definitely not a novelty anymore.

MS Flight Sim in VR is outstanding, but you need a pretty stout rig to run it that will cost you a pretty penny if you can even find the graphics card to run it.

He's pretty active. Travels, hikes, etc he spends 2 months/year at an all inclusive resort in Hawaii....but lives in San Francisco, so more city life the other 10 months
