Is Avengers going to be multiplayer?

It says players will be playing it for years. Sounds like it's a multiplayer game. I personally hope not. I want a single player open world story driven game.

It has some really good developers onboard I read. Why not have both, a solid single player campaign as well as kick arse multiplayer maps?
