TMCC Playlist

Today, 343 Industries and IGN announced the playlists which will be available in Matchmaking for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on November 11th. This has been a huge talking point throughout the community due to how previous Halo games have handled the day one playlists.
quote:
Team Halo 2 Anniversary – 4v4
Play a mix of Team Slayer and objective game types on re-mastered maps.
Halo 2 Anniversary Rumble – 8 Player FFA
Challenge seven other opponents on re-mastered maps. This is your fight and yours alone.
Halo 2 Anniversary Social – 5v5
Play with a team in unranked Team Slayer and objective game types on re-mastered maps.
Team Slayer – 4v4
Eliminate the enemy team across four Halo games: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 2: Anniversary. Nothing but Team Slayer, 24/7.
Big Team Battle – 8v8
Battle it out in 16-player warfare with vehicles across Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo 2: Anniversary.
Halo: Combat Evolved – 4v4
The game that started it all. Play a mix of Slayer and objective game types in Halo: Combat Evolved for the first time on Xbox Live.
Halo 2 Classic – 4v4
It’s back. A mix of the most popular Team Slayer and objective game types from the original Halo 2.
Halo 3 – 4v4
A selection of fan-favorite Team Slayer and objective game types from Halo 3.
Halo 4 – 5v5
A mix of Team Slayer and objective game types from Halo 4, on a selection of small to medium-sized maps.
Team Hardcore – 4v4
A collection of tournament-approved game types from Halo 2 and Halo 3. The Battle Rifle is your primary weapon.
Halo eSports – 4v4
The official Halo eSports playlist.
ROTATIONAL: SWAT – 4v4
Aim for the head! A collection of SWAT game types on our favorite maps from Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo 2: Anniversary. Players have no shields and are equipped with rifles. 4v4.
quote:
For those who are worried that fan favorites like Grifball, Team Snipers and Team Doubles aren’t there – they are now rotational playlists. Every week or so, the rotational playlists will change and offer a new variety of gameplay.
quote:
“As far as 4v4 / 2v2 goes, the current plan is to launch at 4v4. Although there are many who believe that 2’s is the way to play CE (I’m one of them), we’re planning on launching the playlist at 4v4 for a variety of reasons, one of the biggest of which is that 4v4 has historically been much more popular than a 2v2 list across all Halo titles, and also launching without a 4v4 CE playlist for the game’s Xbox Live debut would be a miss.
That isn’t to say that the team size in this playlist couldn’t change, nor that we aren’t planning on featuring (and test running) a CE 2v2 playlist, nor that a 2v2 CE playlist couldn’t become a mainstay (or even the mainstay), but 4v4 with classic universal settings is the current launch plan.
I’m confident that it’s the right decision for launch, and I hope the above makes it clear that we’re aware of the current and constant state of universal Halo: CE settings and preferred team size amongst the core crew, and something we’re mindful of.”

Dude doubles was like all me and my buddy would play. I'm pretty pissed about this honestly

No dedicated objective play lists either? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck 343.

They've basically said doubles is coming. In my opinion there are too many playlist dedicated to H2A. It only has 6 maps but there are 3 playlist just for that one game as well as the 3 other playlist its included is. There is no reason CE should only get one playlist. There better be a good bit of BR starts for all games not named Halo CE and CE better have Pistol starts.

frick it. Put every possible playlist in there. Why not?
If they want to take out the ones nobody plays that's fine. Not having doubles at launch has ruined my day

You and I both know, the new and flashy game will be catered to, and get the most attention.
They will make a doubles and snipers playlist eventually. Probably for the first game update.

I hate how the social playlist is 5v5. They need to quit this shite, and reintroduce squad battle (6v6) to the ranked playlist.

GRIFBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

There needs to be 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4
Posted on 10/9/14 at 8:09 pm to wish i was tebow
Well there's already going to be so many different games/playlists to choose from. The more playlists they make, the smaller the population in each.

I wonder what the ESports playlist is gonna be. Prolly another playlist dedicated to H2A while CE gets the shaft.
Posted on 10/9/14 at 8:15 pm to GeauxWarrior12
That's the MLG playlist, and it will probably be for H2A. Whatever game gets backed by MLG.

That's what I figured but it was never specified. I guess I'll spend most of my time in Team Hardcore and the CE playlist although I really don't want to play any Halo 3 but I really can't complain. A Hardcore Classic playlist with Halo CE and 2 only would be my ideal playlist.

**UPDATED INFO**
I was hoping we'd get Team Hardcore specifically for Halo 2 classic, but I won't mind having H2 and H3 MLG gametypes in the same playlist. I just wish they'd separate the Slayer and Objective gametypes. Kind of silly to mix them in together imo.

UPDATE: 343 Industries Community ManagerAndy “Bravo” Dudynsky has given us more information on the playlists that will be coming on November 11th.
The Rumble playlist is essentially the ranked Rumble Pit (Lone Wolves, if you prefer) playlist, and the focus at launch is H2A. The current thinking is that this playlist would likely expand into a larger FFA playlist — this will largely depend on population and player behavior trends, not just in this playlist, but also others.
As Frank stated, playlist popularity and data will greatly determine how the playlist lineup moves forward.
Also, there is a strong H2A focus at launch as this is the brand new experience in the box. Again, numbers and feedback will determine the overall lineup, H2A playlists included. Could this open up spots? Yes. Could the H2A playlists perform better than all others? Yes. Time will tell.
Also, H2 4v4 will currently features a mix of both BR start and SMG start. Some maps will feature BR only (due to most common engagement distance), some will have both options in the voting. Team Hardcore will obviously feature BR start, classic tournament settings.
