Ya like I said it held stock for quite some time.

I wasn't fast or even within 5 min. They must've gotten a massive restock for it to hold stock for 15 min or so at that price.

That's nice.

I got a GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti ELITE back in Jan for that price.

ETA: Looking at it now, they have stock for 699.99 right now. Crazy.

I'm starting to wonder whether the FEs are just kinda done. I can't imagine Nvidia is making any money on them, at least not on the non-ti skus.

Has there been any word on next gen cards (say 4000 series)?

I've seen some youtube videos but nothing solid.

BB hasn’t had a FE drop in a long while, so I tend to agree that they’re probably done

Anyone still keeping up with the Mtech saga? Is he in Mexico yet?

No announcements, but everyone's expecting another October/November release. Rumors are significant power consumption increase coupled with dramatic performance increase. But we'll see.

If I recall correctly, I think we only had a couple of weeks' notice on the RTX 30 series drop. And there were very few leaks leading up to it. We didn't even know what they looked like. There was far more information before the AMD release, relatively speaking, but still not much.

I’m wondering if I should update my 3080. Probably not though. It’s still pretty beefy with games. Maybe when VRAM requirements exceed 10 GBs.

Do you mean this gen or next gen?

Assuming next gen, that just depends on your chosen settings and pocket depth. As long as there are games out there that I can't run at 1440UW, high+ settings, RTX, at 140 fps, I'm probably going to keep upgrading

I mean, I'm sitting on a 3060Ti, so yes, I plan to update next gen, if the prices steady and the market isn't what it is today as far as availability. Hell, I'd upgrade this gen if that happened.

Ya I'll upgrade for sure. Wanting that 7800 or 7800XT.

I'm too big a techie for cutting edge tech so AMD bringing the MCM first is a must buy like on the CPU side.

Honestly, I would just play through my older backlog for now. That’s what I was doing with my 3070. I have to think you have six months worth of 3+ year old games to play while waiting for Fall.

Maybe more actually. I did bust through all the Tomb Raiders and a couple of need for speeds already. And right now, I just bought Witch Queen on PS5, so this will be a few months of playing too. So, yeah, I have time.

Then I wouldn’t worry about upgrading again this Gen, unless you can make money on it. That’s the only reason I upgraded from a 3070 to a 3080. Both were FE, and I got both for retail, so I was able to sell my 3070 for over double what I bought it for the year before. So it was, all net, a free upgrade for me. If you can do that and it’s worth the effort to you, then yeah. Otherwise, I would just wait.
