I need a little advice.

I got selected in the shuffle for this at 699.99.

GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti ELITE 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Video Card GV-N306TAORUS E-8GD (rev. 2.0) (LHR)

I already have this that I got for 619.00 at BB.

PNY - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB XLR8 Gaming REVEL EPIC-X RGB Single Fan Graphics Card

One day past returnable.

Will the ti be a big upgrade for the extra $100? I don’t think I’ll get $600 for the PNY on eBay.

Thoughts?

I already ordered. I’ll sell it (3060) on eBay for whatever I can get. I saw some used ones going for 550. I used it for a month. Did fine.

$619 - $550 = $70. not bad as a "rental" gpu i suppose.

FYI, i sold a Asus ROG 3060 on facebook for $700 last year.

Good, makes it less likely that I end up getting conned into it. I think TD is the first online community I've ever been a part of that I didn't end up having to admin/mod in some capacity

I’m kind of a gpu newb. What is the big difference between the 3060 I had and the 3060TI I bought? I know the specs (cuda cores, bus width, clock speed, cooling). Anything else?

I mean, other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

The 3060 to ti jump is the biggest of those jumps in Nvidia's stack this gen, by far: LINK

I feel like this is a reference to something and I’m not getting it.

From your link though, it’s a different GPU all together with a little faster base clock speed.

The TI was the card I wanted originally, but I just wanted to try to understand the differences other than reading specs.

It’s an old rhetorical device the plays at asking Abraham Lincoln’s wife how the play was, ignoring her husband’s assassination.

I was basically saying “well if you ignore this really important consideration, what what’s your judgment of of this larger thing?”

But now I’ve explained it to death, so let’s just move on

It is a different gpu. It’s a cut down 3070 core. It basically has nothing in common with a 3060, which uses a different core entirely. Which is really fricking stupid, and I hate what Nvidia was done with product segmentation this Gen.
