Gonna pick this classic back up again. I played it a long time ago and loved it, but got sidetracked less than halfway in (I was level 9 city elf rogue).
Any suggestions on race/class? A lot of people say dwarf noble is the best/most interesting origin, but I've never really liked playing dwarves
I'm leaning towards DW rogue again, but I dunno about race. How is mage?

Dwarf noble just made it easier to buy more items with the extra gold perk.
However, I broke the game and corrupted all of my saves by selling every single item to that one guy that gave the dwarf noble extra gold. Thus I hate the dwarf noble build.

The only class that isn't great in the regular game is an archer build really (though archer is absurdly good in the expansion and DLC). Can't go wrong with DW rogue or warrior or mage really. Human and dwarf nobles probably have the best game flavor choices, but any race is good.
