Anyone playing this and have any tips? Game is chewing me up and spitting me out and the permadeath is punishing

Can't put it down, can't get more than 3-4 stages in. Tough game.

Certain things start to unlock perm weapons, skills etc that are permanent its just taking a while.
I just had a good run with a sub zero type ice blast that freezes people and dual daggers.
Looks like if you get the rng to roll you some good stuff early is the key
Just got a legendary drop throwing knives that does all kinds of stuff and I'm furthest I've gotten so far

Still dying at the last boss, it's a good game that I can pick up really quick.

It’s a really fun game, and I’ve put a bunch of hours into it, but I’m getting to the point where I’m accepting that I just may not beat it.
The final boss is really difficult, and it’s not like it’s a sure thing to get to him every time. My new favorite demoralizing way to die is via the cursed treasure chests (which I’ve decided to open every time in order to help prepare me for the final boss)

As far as tips go, I don’t have a ton. Tactics builds seem to work pretty well for me. It was a while before I put much thought into how I used the upgrade scrolls and what sort of build I would go with.
If you have a strong tactics build you can wipe people out with things like the sinew sliver, cross bow, heavy turret. Etc
You don’t have to spend all your cells after each level (even though it says you do). You can just melee or shoot the door open. Granted that’s more useful for after you’ve acquired a bunch of upgrades and beaten the concierge.
Some grenades have damage reduction modifiers, which is really helpful especially later on.

The best adjustment i made so far is changing the roll button to ZR.
I used it exclusively on that button instead of A and it's a huge difference
