pretty brutal. especially if they still have an unupgraded drake sword and hardly any poise.
best part is, you know that shite happens often
plus being invaded by pvpers who make chars and builds specifically to invade sens fortress and troll

just imagine the dejection someone feels the first time they make it to the boss and dying without knowing about the cage elevator or bonfire
I don't have to imagine. When I got back the 2nd time I looked around a bit more and found the bonfire. Don't know about this cage elevator but I already moved on. I really like how this game has so much that I would 100% never know without reaching out to people. Or if I looked at ign walkthroughs which I haven't yet. I did that for bloodborne because I lost my sense of direction at one point.
I also got lucky with that iron golem. I just rushed him and he fell off the platform. Easiest boss yet.
Quick edit. I have barely any poise. And I just use a +10 axe (a small one...not a huge one). I wonder if I'm missing out on some great weapons and armor lol

all weapons are viable. depends on if you are comfortable with the move set. slashing, thrusting, 2h vs 1h, what stat it scales off, etc
there are a lot of neat weapons

made it to anor londo.
upped my claymore and grass crest shield to +10.
guess ill hit the painted world next. bonewheels and harpies
painted world kicked my arse on my maiden play through years ago
actually knowing how to spec and itemize makes things a lot easier tho. frick that shite was confusing as a noob. stat points everywhere, half upgraded weapons with wrong scalings, not parrying at all

I'm at the two bosses now. One is really fast and the other has a huge hammer. Pretty cool and looks like I can tackle it when I hop on next time.

Smough and Ornstein. I still remember the oh shite first time I made it that far.
How well have you done so far?

So with bloodborne, I had to grind about 2-3 levels before moving on from the first part of the game. That is what I had to do with Dead Souls. I stayed near the start of the game and leveled up and I haven't had a problem since. The hardest part I faced was leaving blighttown. I was so lazy that I just kept trying to go up the watermill thingy and kept getting smoked by the dart blowers.
Other than that it has been a breeze. I am realizing though that I have missed some things. Someone mentioned entering the painting which I was not able to do. I figured after I get past Smough/Ornstein then I might look at going back and finishing some of the stuff I bypassed. Obviously this depends on where the game takes me after killing these two guys.

Bloodborne taught me positive thinking! I think I had more frustrating moments when I was completing Cuphead.

I meant more how close were you to killing those guys on previous attempts?

there are some very hidden secret areas that idk how someone would find without a guide.
the painting imo is one of them.

there is a guy invading low areas named 'bdsm', in full thorns gear

I definitely think the world and the various areas in it are the differentiator from DS 2 & 3.
Even after not playing DS 1 for years, I think I could talk someone trough 70% of the game because the world made such an impact on me.

Figured the best way to attack them is getting rid of the fast guy first. He was at halfway health and I only had 3 flasks. Didn't know it was going to be a straight up boss fight that quickly!

The hidden wall thing I found on accident in the tree. The problem is after that I started hacking away at every wall lol. Stopped doing that.

I'm confused. How can you talk someone through the game if you haven't played it? I legit have no idea any names of characters or what the hell is going on in the story. What's interesting is that I don't really care because I enjoy the gameplay and the challenge. It's strange...usually I would want a game to give me a reason to keep moving on ha

he means, not playing recently.
as in, someone who hasn't played in years could still talk you through the game . shortcuts, boss order, etc
