That’s a DPS issue.
Finally killed the pricks! I two-handed my Halberd, which didn't do as much damage as the club but it was a faster attack. And I equipped the grass crest shield on my back so I can recover stamina faster.
It felt great to finally beat them!

was a BITCH. I had to cast homing soulmass and dash towards the one on the left, roll backwards when I got close to him, and hope I didn't roll off the ross (I did 10 times probably). For the second one I just casted a soul spear at him (it does almost 1000 dmg) and I got past it......after two days of trying

parry and attack maneuver
I'm pretty far into the game and I only attack, block, and roll. I have never used the L2 move. But I am a weird one, I still do not know how to use anything on the up directional pad slot. I also get stuck on weird parts compared to others.
Beat the painting world last night, the dragon lady has been the easiest boss thus far but that could be that I'm getting to be pretty high level. I think she hit me once.
Can someone explain #6 and #14 on that tips for beginners post? Also am I missing out on stuff by not turning human? I just turn human to kindle the camp to get more flasks. Then I usually get killed by someone but it has never really affected my game. I have never summoned anyone to help but I will say I did it twice in bloodborne.

#6 relates to what are called “soft caps” on my stats. Once you surpass 40 on a lot of stats you receive diminishing returns on each incremental point. Those soft caps are distinc from “hard caps” where a certain benefit flat stop at a certain point.
Generally speaking be careful pushing things past 40 until you have testers you want to 40.
#14 relates to a secondary stat comes into play on armor. Poise allows your character to take hits without getting staggered. I wouldn’t worry about it too much for your purposes.

Being human in this one gives a benefit to curse resist and allows you to summon phantoms. It doesn’t have a huge impact on anything.

my first playthrough (when i was a total noob) i didnt even roll. tanked everything with Havel's and a greatshield, and smashed with dragon tooth.
on subsequent playthroughs, ive never gone over 25% equip load and I parry everything that can be parried. takes time to learn
you want to be human as much as possible.

I would say that depends greatly on what you want out of the game.

I'm a solo person and I don't even like bringing in the NPC's to help (Like I said I haven't yet for this game and don't plan on it. Bloodborne I did twice just to try it). So sometimes I turn human and just walk away and hope I get attacked by another multiplayer guy to just kill me so I can continue the game.
I played much of the game at about 30% equip load but as I moved on I keep it at like 49%.
I need to check out my stats and put them on here to see if yall will laugh at me. I think I hit lvl 80 (?) last night. I have about 40 in strength and like 32 in endurance and somewhere in the mid 30s for Vitality.

going human allows for some NPCs to invade which drop rare weapons

That’s basically the only benefit (and most of that gear is not particularly useful). I would either (a) worry about it in NG+ or (b) just read a guide on those phantoms.

I tried to force myself to use some different weapons last night just to try them out and ended up going back to the great club within about 10 minutes each time.
it does too much damage and I need as much dmg as possible in ng+
I hear the butcher's knife is ok

So did I. I just don't want to put my ax down. It's quick and reliable. I've gotten the timing down so perfectly. Still at +10 though. I need to go upgrade that. I have so many embers that allow me to upgrade it with different abilities light lightning and the dark ember or something. But I really don't know if it is worth starting from scratch and going backwards. I think I would rather just keeping pushing it up as it is to +15.

+15 adds a frickton of damage
need a titanite slab though. theres one i know for sure in the dlc . i forget where the non dlc one is
moveset you like is really the most important aspect of a weapon as youve learned. open windows to do damage are short

So for this game I will look to see what I need when I go to the blacksmith but I really doubt I'll be grinding unless I get completely stuck. Once I get near the end, I will head to the DLC area (which I haven't looked up yet). I won't be playing NG+ but I have had a hell of a time playing this game. Not sure what my next game will be but it will be a break from these types of games. I don't mean that in any negative way AT ALL.
Posted on 6/29/18 at 11:39 am to ShootingsBricks4Life
wont need to grind. you probably have enough to take whatever weapon you want to +14 at least.
just gotta acquire the very large ember which is pretty hidden
