Can someone explain the price increase for the Xbox Series X?

I bought mine in 2021 for $500.
5 years later I see it selling for $800 at Best Buy.
What have I missed?

Because RAM and SSD's are insanely expensive due to the AI craze.

The large AI companies are consuming 70+% of the worlds RAM supply for their data centers and there are three companies in the world that produce 95% of the worlds supply. Go look at the stock for Micron and SK Hynix to see how much money they’re printing due to the unprecedented demand.
The price increases aren’t just consoles, look at the prices of laptops, phones and hard drives. All tech is skyrocketing in price.

My wife and I both upgraded our phones to the new Samsung Fold 8 about a month ago. Verizon gave us $2,000 apiece for turning in a Fold 5 and a Flip 5. We got the new phones for "free" as long as we maintain service with them.

My wife went on a spending spree when the Series X came out. She got one for me and one for her. And then one for my son a few months later. I told her ‘You could have just waited until the consoles were cheaper’
