what's the general excitement/perception of this game here?

i listen to and watch a fair amount of video game related content and most of the creators of those are super hyped and have been super hyped for this for awhile.

yet.

here, and other IRL places there is literally no hype for this game. i have no excitement about it. is that general consensus or am i just way off base? From all accounts the game IS very good though.

Funny enough I had no idea this game was coming out until one of my buddies who is a PC gamer only asked if I was getting it because it was receiving rave reviews. I immediately bought the game for my wife to play as she loves playing these type of platform games. I have yet to play it but the wife loves and is in her 3rd playthrough...she doesn't know it, but she is a completionist. From what I've watched her play it seems quite fun and has levels based on PS exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and uncharted.

Between Astro Boy, the original Astro game, sack boy, and Spyro reignited trilogy, I think my wife has more hours on my PS5 than I do this year (which includes a playthrough of BG3). I guess I have the perfect excuse to buy the PS5 pro now.
