Any tips for MW2 online noob? (PS3)

Just hooked up online. Played 2 free for alls, and I am fricking horrible. 
Any tips that the more experienced can give?
ETA: PSN is ko-dizzle
have to drive to Morgan City. Be back after 8 if anyone will be on.

Play the single player game for a few hours before playing online.

I've gone through the campaign on every level. Was just too lazy to hook up online because I had to change location of modem. So I'm familar with the game.

Pick one gun. Assault rifle will be your best bet. Learn it in and out. Then expand. Learn the maps of course. find good campin spots. Until u get better 1-2 kills and 3-5 deaths is ok for now. Dont want to go 3-20. Play free for all for a while. I find that it s easier when you shoot at whatever moves.
